ECSC - TURKEY JOINT COMMITTEE 

ECSC-Turkey Joint Committee has been established pursuant to Article 14 of ECSC-Turkey Free Trade Agreement.The main reaponsibilites of the Committee are to:carry out an exchange of views and information, formulate recommendations to the Parties and deliver opinions with a view to ensuring the proper functioning of this Agreement.The Committee It shall draw up its decisions and recommendations by agreement between The Parties when necessary.

The Joint Committee shall consist of representatives of the Parties.

The office of chairman of the Joint Committee shall be held alternately, for a period of six months, by the representative of the Community, i.e., the Commission of the European Communities, and the representative of Turkey.

The Committee has launched its first meeting on 23 February 1999 and has accepted working procedures of the Committee.
